Macklin Celebrini recently interviewed with the San Jose Sharks during the 2024 Draft Combine in Buffalo. Despite being one of seven teams that interviewed him, there is a strong indication that Celebrini will be making the transition to the professional ranks.

Celebrini, who is expected to be selected as the first overall pick in the upcoming draft in Las Vegas on June 28, described his interview with the Sharks as positive. He expressed excitement about meeting everyone in person, including general manager Mike Grier, whom he had heard about during his time at Boston University.

While Celebrini has not made a final decision about turning pro, sources close to him have indicated to San Jose Hockey Now that it is likely he will choose to forego his college eligibility and join the Sharks for the upcoming season. Celebrini has yet to make a commitment and plans to contemplate his decision further before making it official.
