Shakira, the Colombian pop star, has always been meticulous when it comes to her tours and performances. However, this attention to detail has sometimes resulted in financial losses. During a recent interview on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, Shakira revealed that she lost money on her 2002 Tour of the Mongoose due to a giant cobra background element that cost $1 million to produce.

The cobra was a major part of the show, lifting up at the beginning of each performance. Despite the tour being a huge success and selling out venues worldwide, the cost of taking the cobra on the road ultimately resulted in a loss for Shakira. This tour was in support of her first English album, Laundry Service, and featured hits like “Whenever, Wherever” and “The One.”

In addition to discussing her past tour experiences, Shakira also shared her admiration for Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy. She revealed that she had reached out to him to help translate her song “Loba” into English for its release as “She Wolf,” but ultimately ended up writing it herself. She praised MacFarlane’s creativity and musical talents, expressing her admiration for the musical production of Family Guy.

Shakira’s recent album release Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is proof that she continues to captivate audiences with her music and performances. The album features collaborations with artists like Cardi B, Grupo Frontera, and Rauw Alejandro. It includes tracks like “Puntería,” “Entre Paréntesis,” and “Cohete.” With a successful career spanning decades, Shakira continues to be an inspiration for many around the world.
