Recently, the students of Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine were recognized for their outstanding participation in a two-month long Fresh Air Science Fair. The event, which began on February 1st, saw teams of fifth graders submit projects that brought to life concepts related to clean air pollution.

The entries were judged based on several criteria, including the quality of research, data analysis, and the creativity of presentation. The judges were impressed with the level of dedication and hard work demonstrated by the students.

On Wednesday, March 27th, an award assembly was held at the school to announce the winners and award prizes. The assembly was attended by several notable guests including Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and the trampoline dunking team known as the Rim Rockers.

During the ceremony, first-place team members were announced and received their prizes – three tickets each to see the Milwaukee Bucks play against the Orlando Magic on April 10th, along with transportation to and from the game and vouchers for concessions at Fiserv Forum. Second and third place teams received Bucks merchandise as their rewards.

The success of this event could not have been possible without a partnership between Modine, Milwaukee Bucks, Racine Unified School District and United Way of Racine County. This collaboration allowed students to learn about science in an engaging way while also promoting healthy habits related to clean air pollution. Congratulations to all participants in this year’s Fresh Air Science Fair at Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine!
