Atianna Marquez is a senior at Sanger Apache High School who has a passion for pole vaulting. She has been competing in the sport since her freshman year and loves the athleticism and thrill of being in the air.

Throughout her high school career, Marquez has broken the school record multiple times and continues to push herself to new heights. Her coaches, Michael Gonzales and Sean Marzolf, praise her fearless approach to the sport and her ability to perform at her best under pressure.

Marquez’s talents extend beyond the pole vault, as she is also a talented sprinter and excels in multiple events during track meets. Recently, she won the CMAC title in both the pole vault and high jump, leading her team to a conference championship. Her achievements have not gone unnoticed, as she has earned a scholarship to continue her pole vaulting career at Cal State Fullerton.

With a third-place finish at the Central Section Master’s tournament, Marquez now has the opportunity to compete at the state track meet at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. She is honored at the prospect of representing Sanger at the state level and hopes to make her community proud with a strong performance.
