Samsung TV Plus, the popular FAST platform run by the leading smart-TV manufacturer, is expanding its presence in the sports arena with a range of new offerings as part of a broader programming push. The platform will now feature live streams of games from the American Hockey League team Ontario Reign, an affiliate of the NHL’s LA Kings. Additionally, Samsung TV Plus has added channels dedicated to Major League Baseball, PGA Tour golf, MMA’s ONE Championship and Formula 1.

During a packed NewFronts presentation to advertisers in New York, Samsung stated that Samsung TV Plus is “America’s first choice for television.” Michael Scott, VP and Head of Ad Sales and Operations at Samsung Ads, highlighted how the platform is at the forefront of streaming, removing barriers to both FAST and gaming, and making them accessible to all.

Beyond sports, Samsung TV Plus also announced new news, family, and music programming. The platform has partnered with Warner Music to add exclusive content to its nearly 500 existing national and local channels already available on Samsung TV Plus. This range of channels is at the high end of what any provider offers.

In addition to TV programming, Samsung also announced that ads will start being integrated into Samsung News, a mobile offering that comes pre-loaded on Galaxy devices. The company is also focusing on gaming, aiming to engage consumers without a traditional video game system. Samsung will roll out two games later this year: Rivals Arena, described as a “cinematic card game” with integrated advertiser QR codes; and The Six, a trivia game built into a Samsung connected device.
