The latest generation Russian Sukhoi SU-35 fighter jets are set to be delivered to Iran in the coming days, according to reports from Iranian media. In November, it was reported that Iran had purchased 24 new jets, with unofficial reports suggesting a total of 24 will be delivered. However, details about the purchase and delivery remain scarce.

Recently, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that Iran would respond with a “powerful and ferocious” retaliation if the Jewish State were to launch any aggression on its soil. This came amidst tensions over an Iranian attack and the looming threat of Israeli retaliation. The commander of the Iranian Air Force, General Hamid Vahedi, also stated that the country was fully prepared to strike targets with Russian-made jets like the Sukhoi Su-24.

Meanwhile, reports from the ‘New York Times’ have indicated that Israel recently used advanced technology to evade Iranian radar systems during an attack on the Natanz nuclear site. The use of drones and missiles that went undetected is seen as a warning to Iran about the potential for further large-scale attacks in the future. The aim of these attacks is to deter Iran from launching direct attacks against Israel moving forward. The strategic moves by both countries are raising tensions in the region.

The arrival of Russia’s latest generation fighter jets in Iran is likely to increase tensions between Tehran and Jerusalem even further. While many experts believe that Russia has no intention of taking sides in the conflict between these two countries, others warn that Moscow could become increasingly involved if things escalate further.

Regardless of what happens next, one thing is clear: this conflict between two major powers will continue to dominate headlines around the world for years to come.
