The “Feminist Anti-War Resistance” movement has been deemed “undesirable” by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, according to a report from Meduza. Established by Russian feminists in response to the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, FAS is an association that aims to highlight grassroots anti-war initiatives and actions. Its main objective is to break through the information blockade and raise awareness about the war in Ukraine. However, activists participating in protests acknowledge the risks involved.

Following its inclusion on the list of undesirable organizations, representatives of FAS sought legal counsel. Previously, in December 2022, the Ministry of Justice designated FAS as a foreign agent, with one of its founders, Daria Serenko, also being labeled as such in January 2023. Notably, Serenko was later placed on the wanted list by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, although no clear reasons for suspicion were given as no prior criminal charges had been filed. Serenko is currently outside of Russia.
