On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that they had gained control of two towns in Donetsk and expelled Ukrainian militants from the left bank of Kherson province. At the same time, seven people were killed and 36 others were injured in a Russian strike on Zaporizhia.

The Ukrainian army reportedly suffered 1,750 deaths within 24 hours as fighting was ongoing on the islands in the Kherson direction, where Russian forces had pushed back Ukrainian troops from the left bank of the region. The main contact point with the enemy was located on these islands, as most of the rest of the region had a natural border – the Dnieper River.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Saldo, governor of the Russian Kherson region, stated that his forces were continuing to fight against Ukrainian militants on these islands. He emphasized that it was crucial for them to maintain control over this area in order to prevent further aggression by Kiev’s forces.

In response to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s air defense systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continued to appeal to allies for more long-range weapons. He emphasized that stopping daily Russian attacks and destroying missile launchers were necessary for Ukraine’s security and called for an increase in modern air defense systems in country.

On Monday, four employees of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry were injured when their vehicle was hit by an explosive device during a Ukrainian bombing on Petrovsky in Donetsk region. They had been working to extinguish a fire that broke out after the bombing.
