Pets across the country are at risk of contracting parvo, a potentially deadly virus that is on the rise. In response to this growing concern, the Kansas Humane Society (KHS) and WAAL are hosting free clinics on Saturday where pets can receive preventative services.

At these clinics, pets will have the opportunity to receive microchips and three different vaccines for free. Additionally, owners in need will be provided with free pet food. The KHS clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd at the Linwood Recreation Center. This event is limited to the first 200 animals in line. The WAAL clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the same day at The Venue, located at 3201 E 31st St S. This event is first come, first serve.

To receive a microchip or a vaccination, kittens must be at least six weeks old and puppies must be at least two months old. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier. This initiative is a collaborative effort to protect pets in the Wichita community from infectious diseases like parvo
