Adriatic Golf Club Cervia was the venue for the halfway point of the Italian Open, where American golfer Gunner Wiebe took a commanding lead with a 2-under 69. This brought his total to 9 under, leaving him just one stroke ahead of Jannik de Bruyn of Germany, who had a second straight 67.

Gunner Wiebe had a successful rookie season on the European tour last year, finishing as the runner-up at the British Masters. However, since then he had struggled, making only seven cuts with a best finish of a tie for 41st. Despite this setback, Gunner remains determined to succeed in his career and has been caddying for his father Mark in prestigious events like The Senior Open and the U.S. Senior Open.

Also at 7 under were Sebastian Friedrichsen of Denmark, Marcus Kinhult of Sweden, Adrian Otaegui of Spain, and Brandon Stone of South Africa. These players were just two strokes off the lead and still very much in contention for the title. The tournament continues with many exciting moments ahead as golfers vie for victory at Adriatic Golf Club Cervia.
