The first U23 XC World Cup of the year in Mairiporã, Brazil showcased exciting racing with multiple lead changes over five fast-paced laps. This year, Riley Amos kicked off his 2024 World Cup season in style, dominating both the XCC and XCO races.

The hectic start to the U23 men’s race saw a group of five riders quickly emerge at the front, with Luca Martin and Finn Treudler showing early strength. However, on the third lap, Riley Amos capitalized on a mistake by a competitor to surge into the lead, establishing a gap that his rivals couldn’t close in the remaining two laps. Bjorn Riley made a valiant effort to catch Amos but had to settle for second place, nine seconds behind the winner.

Finally, Cube Factory Racing’s Finn Treudler put in a solid performance, staying near the front throughout the race and finishing 20 seconds behind Amos. With another race scheduled for the following weekend, Amos will be a force to be reckoned with for his competitors in round two. The final results of the U23 Men’s race were as follows:

1st. Riley Amos: 1:06:31

2nd. Bjorn Riley: 1:06:40 (+9)

3rd. Finn Treudler: 1:06:51 (+20)
