The WWE Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley, has had to relinquish her title due to an injury she sustained during a backstage brawl with Liv Morgan. Despite the rumors that the injury was caused by a chair shot from Liv, PWInsider reported that it was not. On Monday Night Raw, F4W confirmed the news.

Ripley announced on the April 15th episode of WWE Raw that she will be taking a break from wrestling and vacating her Women’s World Championship. She expressed disappointment at having to end her reign early but promised to return with a vengeance when she gets back in the ring. Ripley won the championship at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023 by defeating Charlotte Flair and then successfully defended it against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40.

As Ripley focuses on her recovery, fans and peers such as Sports Illustrated’s MMA Knockout are wishing her a speedy return to action. For more coverage of WWE, AEW, UFC, and MMA, stay tuned to MMA Knockout on Twitter and Facebook.
