Electricity is a powerful source of heat that can be used in various industrial applications. It drives chemical reactions, powers compressors, boils liquids and dyes fabric. Atmos Zero, a company focused on reducing the climate impact of making steam, is taking this power to the next level by developing an innovative heat pump boiler that uses electricity to create steam by extracting heat from the air.

According to Ashwin Salvi from Atmos Zero, steam is involved in the production of items like beer, toothpaste and clothes. Traditional boilers used to generate steam in factories rely on fossil fuels like coal and gas which emit significant amounts of carbon pollution. To combat this, Atmos Zero has developed an electric-powered steam generation technology that could significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing processes.

The New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado is Atmos Zero’s first commercial customer. They plan to utilize the new technology to brew beer with the potential to be used in a wide range of industries due to its adaptable design. By informing people about climate change and promoting sustainable solutions like electric steam generation, we aim to reach more individuals and make a positive impact on the environment.
