On April 26th, the Malcom Center in Kīhei will be hosting a one-day Spring Mentor-Protégé Program Workshop. This workshop is aimed at small-business owners who want to learn how to become subcontractors for the Department of Defense or Air Force. The event will take place from 7:30 AM to 3 PM and is designed for businesses that provide construction work, food services, landscaping, or janitorial services.

If you are interested in attending this workshop, registration can be completed online. The event is being hosted by Global Resources Solutions Inc. and Nipoa Standard on behalf of the Air Force Office of Small Business Programs, in collaboration with the Pacific Impact Zone and the Maui Economic Development Board. The location of the event will be at the Malcom Center, which is located at 1305 N. Holopono St., Suite 5.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the workshop. The Mentor-Protégé Program has been in existence since 1991 and has helped small disadvantaged businesses expand their marketplace participation, create more jobs, and increase national income. This program pairs small businesses (protégés) with larger companies (mentors) under project-based agreements to help them compete for prime contract and subcontract awards.
