The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has released its annual list of the “dirty dozen” and “clean fifteen” fruits and vegetables that are most contaminated with pesticides. After analyzing data from over 46,000 samples of 46 popular crops, EWG Senior Scientist Alexa Friedman, Ph.D., identified the twelve most contaminated crops as strawberries, spinach, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, grapes, peaches, pears, nectarines, apples, bell peppers, hot peppers and cherries.
