CompTIA has recently unveiled its new line of learning and certification programs, the Essentials and Expansion series, aimed at enhancing and maintaining AI skills. The series focuses on four AI tech career areas and roles: software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), and data analytics, as well as two job roles: prompt engineering and AI systems architecture.

The Essentials Series is set to be released in July 2024 and is applicable to any occupation. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the landscape of AI, including available tools and best practices for using them, AI challenges and solutions, the benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and the future implications of AI.

On the other hand, the Expansion Series goes beyond the basics by focusing on advanced skills and technology developments in specific job roles for those with a CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas such as security engineering, penetration testing, security analysis, data analysis, systems operations, tech support, AI systems architecture, and prompt engineering. This series aims to provide participants with more in-depth knowledge in their respective fields.
