In an effort to enhance the city of Birmingham, REV Birmingham recently announced significant changes to the downtown Business Improvement District (BID) expansion in Five Points South and the Switch district. These updates bring about new opportunities for a better Birmingham.

The BID is comprised of various small projects that aim to improve the city by providing services such as security, graffiti removal, marketing programs, and other projects. Last year, Bham Now reported on the expansion of BID to Five Points South and the Switch district.

In order to educate the community about these updates and how they can benefit business owners, REV Birmingham will be hosting a series of town halls in Five Points and the Switch this week. The goal is to address questions about the expansion and its potential lasting impact on these districts.

Rima Patel, co-owner of Birmingham Apothecary and a new Downtown BID board member, expressed optimism about the impact of services provided by BID, particularly the introduction of the CAP program. She hopes to see both familiar and new faces at the town halls to learn more about her role in making these improvements happen in her community.
