During the eighth inning, Tommy Pham was called out by the White Sox third base coach after trying to score a run. Pedro Grifol, who was at the time the manager of the Red Sox, saw nothing wrong with the call and discussed his perspective on the play after the game.

Grifol believed that sending Pham home was the right decision given the situation. He felt that it was a strategic move to try and capitalize on an opportunity to score a run. Although Pham did not make it safely back to second base, Grifol stood by his decision and did not fault the third base coach for making it.

In conclusion, Pedro Grifol supported the call to send Tommy Pham home and believed it was a reasonable choice given the circumstances of the game. He did not criticize how it was handled and felt that it was a smart move on behalf of his teammates.
