In 2023-24, the River Region high school athletic season was filled with exciting moments and record-breaking achievements in all 14 sanctioned sports. Several Montgomery-area teams won AHSAA state championships, making it a successful year for prep sports. As the academic and athletic year comes to an end, fans have the opportunity to vote for the Montgomery-area boys high school athlete of the year for the 2023-24 season.
The nominees for this prestigious award include 32 athletes who have been recognized as all-state and all-area selections, with some even earning The All-Area Player of the Year honors for their respective sport. The poll will be open until Monday, June 24th, giving fans plenty of time to cast their votes.
The list of nominees is diverse and includes athletes from schools like Holtville, Prattville Christian, Trinity, Brantley, Pike Road, Wetumpka, and many others. From standout football players to basketball stars and track and field champions, these athletes have left a lasting impact on their respective sports throughout the season.
