Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is actively participating in the team’s voluntary offseason program, despite facing eight felony charges following a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas last month. The virtual program has been held until practice begins on May 20th. Rice has also reunited with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Texas to continue working together.

During Phase One of the team’s offseason program, Mahomes arranges on-field practices three times a week for players before they meet with their position coaches. Despite the legal challenges, Rice has shown promise on the field as he led the team’s wide receivers with impressive stats last season as a rookie. The Chiefs are hopeful that he will continue to excel and potentially start opposite Hollywood Brown in the upcoming season.

Coach Andy Reid addressed local media on Monday about Rice’s status with the team. He stated that they will wait for the law enforcement process to take its course before making any decisions about Rice’s future with the team. Reid emphasized the importance of learning from the incident for Rice’s future growth and urged him to use this experience as an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
