In my view, it is unrealistic for more cars to compete at the top level in rallying. The competition is intense, and the gap between top-performing cars and those struggling is vast. However, I believe that increasing the number of competitive cars could benefit the sport.

What about cars that are not at the top level? Would a top tier driver be able to drive a Rally2 car, for example? This concept is not new; we have seen drivers like Sébastien Ogier switch to less advanced cars in the past. Ogier believes that having more spectacular cars on the track is beneficial for both drivers and fans. However, he also acknowledges that a slight downgrade in performance could still result in an exciting competition if it helps to reduce costs and increase the number of entries in the top category.

Ogier’s concerns go beyond just the performance of the cars. He is also focused on promoting the WRC and its direction. He believes that more promotion is needed to attract a wider audience to the sport. Additionally, he has considered the future of events like the Croatia Rally in the world championship as their current deal is up for renewal. Ogier’s thoughts on these issues show that he is not only concerned with his own performance but also with the growth and development of rallying as a whole.

In conclusion, while it may seem unrealistic for more cars to compete at the top level in rallying, I believe that increasing competition can benefit both drivers and fans alike. Furthermore, promoting events like Croatia Rally through better marketing efforts can help attract new audiences and bring attention back to this exciting sport.

Overall, rallying needs more than just high-performance cars to thrive; it needs creativity, innovation, and passion from all involved parties – drivers, organizers, sponsors and fans alike.
