In response, he issued an advisory report detailing the consequences of gun violence on health and overall wellbeing, with a focus on its impact on children, communities, and families.
According to the report, gun violence is the leading cause of death among children and adolescents. More than half of adults surveyed reported experiencing gun violence either directly or through a family member. This includes incidents like a family member being killed, witnessing a shooting, or firing a gun themselves. Nearly six out of ten adults expressed concern about their loved ones becoming victims of gun violence.
