The Las Vegas Raiders are considering a move from their current training camp location in Henderson to the Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa, California. The team is currently in discussions with the city about using the sports complex for this summer’s camp.
If approved, the Raiders would join four other NFL teams training within 100 miles of one another in Southern California. The team is reportedly paying $165,000 in rent to Costa Mesa as part of the agreement, as well as $600,000 for field improvements at the sports complex.
Practices at the camp would be open to the public, providing fans with an opportunity to see their favorite players up close and personal. This move could also provide a boost to the local economy, as it would create jobs and attract visitors to the area.
