The second intermediate track of the NASCAR season is Texas Motor Speedway, and this weekend, all three national series will be competing there. This event follows two consecutive short track races, and it’s an exciting time for fans.

Last season’s Truck race at Texas was won by Carson Hocevar, while John Hunter Nemechek took the victory in the Xfinity race. William Byron emerged as the winner in the Cup race. Byron has been successful in recent Cup races, with two wins in the last three events. This weekend also marks Jimmie Johnson’s return to Cup racing as he gets behind the wheel of the No. 84 Legacy Motor Club Toyota for his second start of the season.

The Texas Motor Speedway weekend schedule includes a series of events, starting with a mostly sunny day on Friday with highs of 81 degrees. On Saturday, sunny skies are expected, accompanied by wind gusts exceeding 20 mph. Sunday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching 81 degrees.

Friday’s activities include practice sessions and qualifying rounds for the Truck and Xfinity Series races, followed by the Truck Series race that evening. On Saturday, the Cup Series practice session leads up to qualifying and the Xfinity Series race. The weekend ends with the Cup race on Sunday afternoon.

Series officials are collaborating with Goodyear to determine how to enhance tire wear at short tracks, ensuring an engaging and competitive racing experience for drivers and fans alike. With so much action happening this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, it’s a must-see event for NASCAR fans!
