Ponsse, a forest machine manufacturing company, has announced that it will be reducing 21 jobs in Finland and approximately 40 jobs outside of Finland as a result of change negotiations. Despite initially estimating a total reduction of 120-140 jobs, the number of layoffs turned out to be lower than expected due to many employees being placed into new roles that opened up with the change in operating model.

The company’s change negotiations concluded about a month ago, but at that time the exact number of layoffs was still unclear. Ponsse had initially estimated a total reduction of 120-140 jobs, with 50-60 of them in Finland. However, through strategic planning and determination, the company was able to minimize the impact on its workforce.

Ponsse is committed to supporting its workforce through these changes and is actively seeking opportunities to help employees find new roles within the company or elsewhere. With a focus on maintaining a strong and resilient workforce, Ponsse is navigating through this challenging period with determination and strategic planning.
