Polymer Resources Ltd. is expanding its range of sustainable engineering resin compounds that contain a minimum of 50% recycled content. Initially, the company’s portfolio consisted of four general-purpose grades, but as they approach mid-2024, the range is being broadened to include various flame-retardant products certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

The initial commercial offerings from the company included low-flow PC (PC-GP1S), medium-flow PC (PC-GP2S), high-flow PC (PC-GP3S), and PC/ABS (GP1S). These materials all contain at least 50% recycled content and come in opaque colors. They are also available in natural, black, or customizable colors. The properties and processing parameters of these grades are reported to be very similar to their virgin counterparts, allowing for these sustainable materials to be used as direct replacements for existing fossil-based resins in many cases.

With this expanded portfolio, Polymer Resources Ltd. aims to provide customers with more options for sustainable materials that can help them reduce their carbon footprint while still maintaining the performance and quality they need for their products. The flame-retardant compounds now included in the range are expected to further enhance this goal by providing additional safety features for applications where fire protection is a concern.
