Portland has been recognized as the No. 10 best city in the world for food by Time Out magazine. In a survey of thousands of city-dwellers, Time Out identified the top 20 cities for food and then reached out to food writers in each top-ranked city to provide insights on the must-visit restaurants, hot dishes, and local favorites.

Portland’s must-eat dish according to the survey is pizza. The city’s pizza scene was highly praised for its quality and affordability, with locals raving about the diverse options available. Food writer Alice Reichert highlighted that in Portland, high-quality food doesn’t always come with a high price tag.

The article also mentioned Ki’ikibáa, which was named The Oregonian’s Restaurant of the Year in 2023. Portland found itself in esteemed culinary company alongside Naples, Italy (known for its pizza), which secured the top spot as the best worldwide food city. Portland has received similar accolades in the past, having been named the best food city in the US multiple times.
