The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired defensive tackle Willington Previlon off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons, as reported by the NFL transactions wire on Friday. Previlon, 27, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2020 and has since had stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, and Falcons. Despite his experience with multiple teams, Previlon has never played in a regular-season NFL game.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, Previlon has primarily seen action in preseason games. He played in three preseason games with the Packers in 2021, three with the Buccaneers in 2022, and three more in 2023. Over the course of these nine games, he recorded seven tackles and two quarterback hurries. While Previlon has yet to make a significant impact on the field during the regular season, the Steelers may see potential in his size and versatility on the defensive line.

The Steelers are looking for ways to strengthen their defense after a disappointing season last year. Previlon’s addition could provide depth and competition for spots on the defensive line. It’s unclear if he will play in any regular-season games this year or how much time he will spend with the team before being released again or cut entirely. However, if he can prove himself on the field and make an impact, he could be a valuable asset to the Steelers’ defense moving forward.
