In recent news, 247 Sports released its latest class-of-2025 rankings, featuring five-star prospect Meleek Thomas and four-star recruit Amari Evans in the top 100 list. Thomas, ranked No. 10 overall, made headlines when he announced his transfer to Overtime Elite, joining Evans who has been a part of the league for years.

Despite their national recognition, both Thomas and Evans have received offers from schools like Pitt. Evans is set to visit Pitt on an official visit soon. However, only five players from Pennsylvania high schools were listed in the top-150 rankings, with no current WPIAL players making the cut.

However, six local class-of-2025 players have Division I offers, including Tyler Robbins from Upper St. Clair who recently received offers from Robert Morris and Duquesne. Other local players like Ama Tening Sow and RJ Sledge have also garnered attention from Division I programs. Players like Zion Moore and Mikey Santicola have received interest from both Division I and Division II programs as well.

On June 15th, college coaches were given permission to start contacting class-of-2026 recruits in the Pittsburgh area. Prospects like Rowan Carmichael, Jackson Bauman, Grant Spacciapoll and others received interest from schools as the contact period began. Josh Pratt was also part of the group that started getting contacted by college coaches.
