In the men’s race, Alexander Mutiso Munyao of Kenya emerged victorious with a time of 2:04.01, outpacing distance running legend Kenenisa Bekele who finished second in 2:04.15. Emile Cairess of Britain took third place with a time of 2:06.46.

Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia finished second in the women’s race with a time of 2:16.23, while Joyciline Jepkosgei of Kenya came in third with a time of 2:16.24. Marcel Hug claimed victory in the men’s wheelchair race, while Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland won the women’s event.
