Passavant Energy & Environment Limited, a subsidiary of Drake & Scull International, has been awarded a new project to design and construct an expanded wastewater treatment plant in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The project, worth 789 million Saudi riyals (approximately 215 million US dollars), aims to enhance the existing infrastructure and promote sustainability efforts in the Eastern Province.

Passavant will be working in collaboration with a major contracting company in Saudi Arabia to complete this innovative project. As part of this project, Passavant will be responsible for process engineering, procurement, equipment supply, plant installation, and commissioning supervision. The expanded wastewater treatment plant will have a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day and will incorporate technology to convert waste into energy. This makes it one of the largest applications of this technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
