The baseball race in the Pacific Coast League is coming down to the wire, with several teams vying for the league title and automatic playoff berths. Northwood, Beckman, Irvine, Woodbridge, and University are all in contention as the season enters its final month. While Northwood and Beckman currently hold the top two spots, other teams like Portola are also in pursuit of a spot in the CIF playoffs. Irvine coach Gabriel Cota describes the league as “dead even” and believes that any team could come out on top on any given day.

In girls water polo, Northwood High School has had a remarkable year with three of its players being named to the All-CIF Division 4 team. Seniors Yoshi Elsefi and juniors Audrey Mariano and Nina Elias were recognized for their outstanding performances under coach Kyle Kim-E. The program reached the CIF finals for the first time in school history, ultimately falling to Rosary 8-6. With Mariano and Elias returning for another season, Kim-E is optimistic about the future of the program.

At Woodbridge High School, student-athletes from both soccer and swim teams have signed national letters of intent. Four soccer players who helped secure the Pacific Coast League title have made commitments: Maci Land signed with Loyola Marymount, Sabine Ramos with Cal Poly Pomona, Bella Venegas with Chico State University, and Milan Heisdorf with UC Irvine. From the swim team, Jacob Wang was named PCL MVP and signed with UC San Diego while Dean Ko was a six-time PCL A finalist and signed with Claremont McKenna College. These signings reflect
