The Women’s College World Series is being held in Oklahoma City, and Texas Longhorns softball coach Mike White is not happy about it. One of his main concerns is that the location gives an advantage to the Oklahoma softball team, who have built a strong program over the years. White believes that rotating the tournament locations would be a better option, but he understands it may not happen during his coaching tenure.

Nebraska consistently making the World Series could change people’s perception of Omaha as a host city, but the fact that Oklahoma consistently performs well is what makes their advantage more noticeable. While some may draw parallels between Oklahoma City and Omaha’s hosting of other sports events like Rosenblatt Stadium and Charles Schwab Field, there are not many better alternatives for hosting the event.

Oklahoma City’s Devon Park, with a seating capacity of 13,000 fans, is an excellent venue for the Women’s College World Series. It’s hard to find a better place to host this prestigious softball event than Devon Park. Both Texas and Oklahoma will be competing in this year’s tournament, which kicks off on May 30. The location of the tournament remains a point of contention for some, but for now, Oklahoma City continues to serve as the host for this exciting event.
