Nu:ionic Technologies has made bold claims about the efficiency of their microwave catalyst reforming (MCR™) technology, which converts energy into hydrogen by using renewable electricity to power the reforming of gas feedstocks like methane and biogas. The Canadian-based start-up has successfully run a 100kW unit for 48 hours continuously in March of 2024, bringing them one step closer to commercializing the MCR technology.
