North Carolina guard Deja Kelly has made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal for her final season of eligibility. The senior, who has been a consistent starter for the Tar Heels throughout her four years with the team, is exploring her options and has not ruled out returning to Chapel Hill.

Kelly has been a standout player for North Carolina, averaging 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during her time with the team. She ranks sixth on the program’s all-time scoring list with 1,858 career points and has earned All-ACC Team and All-American honorable mention honors for three consecutive seasons.

Despite these accolades, Kelly’s departure from North Carolina would make her the sixth player to leave after the season. This includes others who have entered the transfer portal or transferred to other schools. The team will have to adjust to a new lineup if Kelly decides to pursue other opportunities.
