Sedaro, a cloud-based software startup that specializes in creating digital twins for simulation and design work, recently received an investment from Noblis’ corporate venture capital arm. The specifics of the investment were not disclosed, but Sedaro’s CEO Robbie Robertson expressed excitement about working with Noblis to further develop their digital twin technology.

In August, Sedaro announced a $1.5 million contract with Space Force to showcase the use of digital twins in spacecraft design. The objective of this program is to demonstrate how digital twins can enhance spacecraft capabilities for in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing missions. Space is a key area of focus for Noblis Ventures, a subsidiary of the nonprofit science and technology firm Noblis, that invests in early-stage deep technology startups to support their transition from the lab to government missions.

Noblis Ventures’ first investment in the space sector was in Scout Space, a company specializing in vision solutions for spacecraft data collection and object tracking. Noblis CEO Mile Corrigan praised Sedaro’s tools for improving technology readiness in complex physical designs, highlighting the potential for collaborative solutions and development to enhance digital engineering capabilities and mission outcomes for customers.

In a podcast episode in June, Corrigan shared insights into Noblis’ venture arm, outlining the organization’s vision for expanding their investments and advancing innovation beyond boundaries. This strategic approach aligns with Noblis’ commitment to driving technological advancements and expanding their impact on government missions.
