In the elite men’s cross-country race at the fourth round of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, Nino Schurter emerged victorious. He sealed his win with a solo finish, crossing the line seven seconds ahead of Alan Hatherly of Cannondale Factory Racing and 46 seconds ahead of a chasing group. Mathis Azzaro of Decathlon Ford Racing Team claimed the third spot in a sprint finish, followed by Luca Braidot of Santa Cruz Rockshox Pro Team in fourth and Filippo Colombo of Scott-Sram MTB Racing Team in fifth.

Schurter expressed his satisfaction with the victory, describing the course as both tactical and physically demanding. He emphasized the importance of making a strong start due to the course’s challenging nature that doesn’t favor riding in a group. By applying pressure on the climbs, Schurter managed to break away from the lead group, leaving only himself and Hatherly competing for the top spot by the third lap.

Schurter’s winning move came through the feed zone, where he accelerated and extended his lead on the first climb. While initially holding a 17-second advantage, he maintained his pace to secure a seven-second lead at the finish line. Victor Koretzky of Specialized Factory Racing maintains his lead in the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series individual standings with 789 points, followed by Schurter in second with 755 points and Hatherly in third with 709 points.
