The latest rankings of the top NFL head coaches have been released, and Jarrett Bailey from Touchdown Wire has compiled the list. According to Bailey’s rankings, Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and Mike Tomlin hold the top three spots, while Jerod Mayo, Matt Eburflus, and Dennis Allen are at the bottom.

Sean Payton of the Denver Broncos falls in the middle at 16th on Bailey’s list. Despite being a one-time Super Bowl champion, Bailey’s rankings are not influenced by Payton’s past successes with Drew Brees. Instead, Bailey highlights that Payton had several seasons with seven or eight wins even with Brees as his quarterback. He believes that it’s essential to acknowledge that Payton may not be the same coach he once was in 2009.

However, despite uncertainty surrounding Payton’s ranking, the Broncos have shown their commitment to him by offering a five-year deal. This signifies that the team is dedicated to providing Payton with the necessary resources and time to rebuild the team. It will be interesting to see how Payton and Bo Nix work together to elevate the Broncos in the coming years.
