The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season at Corinthians Arena, also known as Neo Química Arena, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This game marks the NFL’s first-ever game in Brazil and the Packers will not be opening the season at home in Titletown or in the United States. The Eagles and the Packers had been contenders for the international game, with the Packers ultimately securing the spot.

The historic matchup will take place on Friday, September 6, making it the first opening week NFL game to be broadcast on a Friday night in over 50 years. The last Week 1 Friday night broadcast was in 1970 when the St. Louis Cardinals faced the Los Angeles Rams. Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy expressed excitement about the opportunity to play in front of fans in Brazil and to contribute to the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers.

The Packers have played internationally in the past, with most of their games being preseason matches. They have played in Canada twice and in Tokyo once for preseason games.
