After a thrilling match between Fulham and Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, several notable statistics have come to light.

Newcastle United has just achieved their longest winning streak against Fulham in the Premier League, with five consecutive victories. This is only surpassed by their streak against Tottenham in December 2008. Despite struggling early on this season, Newcastle has been making progress and won three of their last five away games. They also kept a clean sheet on the road for the first time since their 8-0 win over Sheffield United in September 2023.

On the other hand, Fulham suffered their first consecutive defeats in the Premier League since December, and they were unable to score for the first time since their goalless draw against Everton in January. However, one player who stood out during the game was Bruno Guimaraes, who scored his third goal in his last four Premier League away games. This was an impressive feat considering his previous record of scoring only two goals from his 28 away matches in the competition prior to this game.

Despite dominating possession with a 67.3% share, Fulham ultimately lost the match to Newcastle United. This possession percentage was actually higher than it had been in any Premier League match they lost under Marco Silva since April 2023 when they had 76.6% possession but still lost 1-0 to West Ham United.

Overall, both teams put on a strong performance during Saturday’s game, with Newcastle winning a hard-fought victory over Fulham despite some close calls along the way.
