The contested Prime Minister of Haiti resigned, leading to the establishment of a new transition council aimed at restoring public order in a country plagued by gang violence. During an official ceremony broadcast on television, Edgard Leblanc Fils was chosen as the president of this council. He will play a coordinating role within the body to address the challenges facing the nation.

In addition to selecting Edgard Leblanc Fils as the president, the majority of council members suggested Fritz Bélizaire as the Prime Minister. Frinel Joseph, a non-voting member of the council, promised further details on this proposal at a later time. The decision to appoint a new president came after an agreement among the seven voting members, rather than through an internal election as previously planned.

Despite initial complications and changes in plans, the council is now operational due to successful negotiations and agreements between different stakeholders. It took several weeks of discussions and negotiations to establish the council due to disagreements among political parties, stakeholders, and the outgoing government. Now, with a new leadership structure in place, the council aims to address the urgent issues facing Haiti and work towards stability and progress.

The new transition council has been established with Edgard Leblanc Fils as its president. The majority of council members have suggested Fritz Bélizaire as prime minister while Frinel Joseph promises more details on this proposal at a later time. This decision was made after an agreement among seven voting members rather than through an internal election that was initially planned.

The establishment of this new leadership structure comes after weeks of negotiations between different stakeholders including political parties and government officials following contested elections for prime minister earlier this year. Despite initial complications that delayed its formation, successful negotiations have led to its current operational status.

With this new transition council in place, it is hoped that they can effectively address pressing issues facing Haiti such as gang violence and instability while working towards progress towards stability in the country.
