Mercedes Benz Trucks and Buses recently announced plans to establish its own vehicle factory in Zárate, Argentina. The automaker, which spun off from Mercedes Benz Argentina, will invest 60 million dollars in the new facility. This news has been well-received by the business sector, which has praised the tax and bureaucratic incentives provided by the municipality of Zárate.

The local mayor, Marcelo Matzkin, emphasized the importance of private investments in generating employment and transforming Zárate into a hub for companies of all sizes. The municipality has relaxed regulations to encourage large investments, including eliminating fees and charges that previously burdened businesses. This move has been successful in attracting companies like Toyota Argentina, which recently announced plans to produce a new model in Zárate with a 50 million dollar investment.

In addition to Toyota, Mercedes Benz Argentina will be building a new plant in Zárate that is set to begin operations in 2026. This new facility will focus on producing trucks and chassis for buses, showcasing the company’s commitment to Argentina. The announcement has been met with enthusiasm, as it represents a significant investment in the region and will create new job opportunities.

The Industrial Center project in Zárate includes the relocation of various operations currently housed in the Juan Manuel Fangio Industrial Center. This initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses’ strategy to operate independently and increase productivity. The company currently employs over 500 workers directly and supports an additional 2,000 jobs indirectly through its network of dealers and sales points throughout the country.

Overall, the investments from companies like Mercedes Benz and Toyota are seen as positive developments for the economy of Zárate. The new factories will not only create job opportunities but also contribute to the growth and development of the region. The municipality’s efforts to attract and support private investments are paying off
