Sabine Herlitschka, the CEO of Infineon Austria, has been appointed to join the Supervisory Board of ÖBAG, the state holding company. The news was reported by Kronen Zeitung, citing sources from industry circles. Günther Ofner, a Board Member of Vienna Airport and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, will continue in his position.

Recently, it was announced that Günther Ofner and Julian Jaeger’s contracts with Flughafen Wien AG would be extended. Ofner’s contract will run for another three years until September 30, 2028 while Jäger’s contract will be extended for another five years until September 30, 2030. Both have led the company since 2011 and are known for their expertise in public transport and ties to political parties respectively.

Österreichische Beteiligungs AG (ÖBAG) is responsible for overseeing the Republic of Austria’s investments in various listed companies such as OMV, Post Telekom and Casinos Austria. The company was established in 2019 out of Austrian Federal and Industrial Participations GmbH (ÖBIB), which was formed in 2015 from Austrian Industrial Holding Aktiengesellschaft (ÖIAG).

These developments highlight significant changes in leadership and governance within major state-owned companies in Austria.
