Rob Dillingham, a freshman guard at Kentucky, is making waves as he announces his decision to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old is projected to be a first-round pick and is currently ranked as the No. 7 selection in the latest NBA mock draft by Krysten Peek for Yahoo Sports. Known for his quickness with the ball, ability to create separation off the dribble, and finishing at the rim, Dillingham averaged 15.2 points and 3.9 assists off the bench for Kentucky, showcasing his talent to NBA scouts.

Despite the departure of Coach John Calipari from Kentucky, reportedly heading to Arkansas, Dillingham decided to make the leap to the NBA Draft. Signing with Klutch Sports Group agency, he announced his decision on ESPN’s NBA Today. According to reports, he cited his family’s support and lessons learned from Calipari about teamwork as reasons behind his decision. Despite a successful season at Kentucky where he was the second-leading scorer with 15.2 points per game and shooting 44 percent from three-point range, the Wildcats fell short in the NCAA tournament adding pressure on Calipari.

Dillingham joins a long line of Kentucky stars who have chosen to enter the NBA Draft after a short stint in college under Coach Calipari’s guidance. His decision highlights his confidence and readiness to take on the next level of competition as he prepares for a bright future in professional basketball.
