The Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette has opened its doors and is now serving patients in Tippecanoe County. As the largest comprehensive cancer center in the area, the facility offers screenings, diagnostics, and treatments all under one roof.

With a $43 million investment, the three-story, 68,000 square foot building boasts updated technology that allows for the best possible care for cancer patients in the community. Terry Wilson, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Western Indiana, emphasizes the importance of this new infrastructure in providing exceptional service to patients and their families.

Maria Vought, director of the oncology service line at the center, highlights one of the key benefits of the new facility – reduced travel time for patients. This means that treatment can be received closer to home, allowing for stronger connections with family members who want to be involved in the patient’s care.

In addition to medical services, the center offers wrap-around support including financial aid, transportation assistance, and case management. Looking ahead, Wilson expresses interest in collaborating with Purdue University to conduct clinical trials that may lead to improved treatment options for patients. Overall, Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing cancer in the community.
