In Milan Design Week, creativity and innovation are the centerpieces of a range of events, exhibitions, and installations that showcase cutting-edge design. One such event is the “Re/Creation” exhibition at Palazzo Isimbardi, which offers visitors a moment of respite from the frenetic pace of Design Week. Here, installations encourage contemplation and appreciation of the art of design.

Another trend in contemporary design is the reimagining of classic pieces. TON has done just that with its iconic chair 14, introducing two new interpretations that incorporate modern elements while maintaining the chair’s essence. Swedish design studio Claesson Koivisto Rune has also gone for maximum minimalism with their 314 collection, removing 19th-century romantic influences to create a more contemporary aesthetic.

During Milan Design Week, brands such as Kaldewei, e15, and Run showcase their latest collections and designs. Visitors can choose to wander aimlessly or target specific highlights throughout the city. For those interested in contemporary Austrian design, the Palazzo Confalonieri – Fondazione Cariplo will host an exhibition featuring furniture, lamps, home accessories, and tableware.

Located in Brera Design District, Design Palazzo Austria will feature approximately 30 manufacturers and designers selected by an expert jury. The exhibition design by Kreativstudios Vasku & Klug aims to create an interactive experience for visitors to appreciate historical Austrian design in a charming setting.
