Rebecca Lim has been appointed as the new Director of Technology by the East Maine Elementary School Dist. 63 Board of Education, effective July 1, following the retirement of current Director of Technology Keith Shaffer. Currently working as an instructional technology coach in the district, Lim’s diverse background as a kindergarten and fifth-grade teacher, student-centered approach, and extensive knowledge of instructional technology make her the perfect fit for this role.
During her time as an instructional technology coach in the district, Lim spearheaded technology integration efforts, secured funding for technology initiatives, and worked to ensure equitable access to technology for students. Her annual salary for this new position will be $124,500. Prior to becoming an instructional technology coach, Lim began her career in education in 2012 with positions in elementary teaching in various locations before transitioning into the private sector and co-authoring volumes of the book series “Amplify Learning: A Global Collaborative.”
Lim expressed her excitement about this transition, stating that she has enjoyed supporting D63’s commitment to high-quality education through innovative technology over the past three years. In her new role as Director of Technology, she aims to amplify this work further to enhance teaching and learning opportunities for students. Lim holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Nebraska’s Peru State College, a master’s degree in educational administration from California State University Northridge, and a graduate certificate in instructional technology from UMass Global in Irvine, CA.
