Josh Allen, the pass rusher of Jacksonville Jaguars has reached a deal to convert his franchise tag into a five-year contract. The details of the agreement include a signing bonus of $32 million and fully guaranteed base salaries for each year of the contract. The deal also comes with offseason workout bonuses, roster bonuses and annual incentives based on sack totals and Pro Bowl/All-Pro honors.

The breakdown of the contract shows that it has a fully guaranteed base value of $141.25 million with an average annual value of $28.25 million. The deal pays out varying amounts each year, with the highest salaries in the first and last years of the contract. If Allen achieves certain performance benchmarks, such as reaching a certain number of sacks or earning Pro Bowl/All-Pro recognition, the contract could reach a maximum value of $150 million.

The structure of this contract is similar to one given to another pass rusher, Brian Burns of the New York Giants. While Allen’s base average per year slightly surpasses Burns, his incentives are slightly higher. Both players have the opportunity to earn additional money based on their performance on the field. Overall, this contract offers a combination of guaranteed money and potential incentives for Allen over the next five years.
