The Sunflower Foundation has announced the appointment of Jim Martin and Angie Strecker, both from Topeka, and the reappointment of Mike Matson from Manhattan to its Board of Trustees. Lawton R. Nuss, the former chief justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, has also been selected to join the board of directors at All Rise, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing treatment courts and other justice innovations for individuals impacted by substance use and mental health disorders.

The United States now has over 4,000 treatment courts, helping connect more than 150,000 people to treatment each year. The Sunflower Foundation President and CEO Brandon Skidmore stated that both Martin and Strecker bring a wealth of experience in health care, finance, and community improvement work to the board. Martin will be taking over the seat left by Jay Kennedy from First National Bank of Frankfort, while Strecker will be filling the position previously held by former BCBSKS President and CEO Andy Corbin. Matson will be serving his third and final term on the board.
