On May 19, thousands of Muslims gathered at churches across Iran to pray for the safe return of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian after their helicopter disappeared in mountainous terrain amid dense fog. The government initially stated that the helicopter had to make an emergency landing, but reports later suggested that it had crashed.

Rescue teams were dispatched to search for the missing helicopter, but there was no information about its whereabouts. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reassured the people, urging them not to worry about the government’s leadership. People anxiously followed news updates on their TVs and phones, hoping for a positive outcome.

Iran received assistance from Russia and Turkey in the search efforts, with other countries offering to help if needed. However, rescue teams faced challenges due to the rugged terrain and limited visibility in the forested area where the helicopter was last seen. Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi urged people to rely on official sources for information and not to spread rumors.
